day 6: more beauty

Happy Mother's Day, everybody!

Today we woke up early to catch mass at the Carmel Mission Basilica. What a great way to start the day. After church we had breakfast at the hotel and headed out to Point Lobos. We hiked all around and were so happy to get so close to seals, a sea lion and lots of sea otters. Really wonderful!

ooooo. looks so beautiful. I spent so much time there when my mom lived there off Ocean in a little cottage she named "Nevertheless"....don't forget to go to the Mission Ranch and sneak off to Pacific Grove if you have a minute. Loved seeing these pix of Big Sur....did you go to Nepenthe?.. and the Tuck Box!Happy anniversary you two!!! xoC

Amy, I'm headed to Monterey this summer, and you've reminded me of all the wonderful places I want to revisit. You're like my own private tour guide!! Thanks...

I'm so happy to hear you're having fun in the Carmel/Monterey area. I love living here and being surrounded by such beautiful and charming places every day.

If you get a chance, take a trip about 3 miles down Carmel Valley Road to the Baja Cantina. The food is great and it has a fun atmosphere. In front are some charming little antique shops, too.

And if you want some really good fish, the locals' favorite is the Monterey Fish house. I doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is amazing. Get there early, though, because it fills up fast.

I hope you have a great time here. I could spend days just showing you around. :)

I'm glad to see you haven't had time to post in a couple of days, that means you're too busy having fun! How's Doris? How's Clint? When you get home check my blog regarding the fun time I had with Clint once! Love, Stephanie
